No Salman for Katrina?

'I'm just so looking forward to being with all my sisters. My brother is also taking the time off to be in London for the first time in years with all of us sisters. I've been with some of my siblings in London. But never all. It's not holiday for me. It's a necessity. And nothing can stop from making it happen,' she said. The actress' popularity soared after the success of 'Namaste London' and 'Singh Is Kinng'.

Sexy Semi Nude Angel

She is barely a newcomer in the field and though she has done one or two films, she has already grabbed the attention of many. She is none other than Piaa Vajpai and right now she is a hot cake in the Kollywood circuit. Here she is posing as a teasingly seductive angel.

While it is not sure whether Piaa did this for a movie or a personal photo shoot, those who have seen this still say that she looks like an angel of lust and goddess of sex with her divinely sculpted figure and her tender age.

Already, this picture shows Piaa with a jutting cleavage and a sexy navel, and the Telugu makers are said to be having their mouths go dry with this picture. Only time will tell if this sexy semi nude angel will get to show her oomph on the Telugu silver screens too.

Carla Bruni’s racy lingerie pics make waves

Steamy shots of French First lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy have been unearthed which show the stunner in lacy lingerie – before she became a supermodel.

The sexy snaps were taken in 1989 for clothes giant Next`s mail order catalogue, reports The Sun.The pics have been unearthed from the High Street chain`s archives as Next celebrates its 21st anniversary.

Other models who made it big after appearing in Next Directory include Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, and Linda Evangelista. Next`s Natalie Pead said: “We have consistently discovered modelling`s future superstars.

“Our shrewd judgment has helped kick-start the careers of a succession of supermodels.

Censors turn leniant on liplock in Tollywood

If they can strip, they can soon kiss. Tollywood’s heroines who are stripping at the drop of a hat will be able to kiss lip to lip in films. With winds of change blowing in censordom, a liplock, a la Akshay Kumar and Hollywood beauty Denise Richards in the upcoming Hindi flick ‘Kambhakt Ishq’, will be possible in Telugu films in the near future.

So far, the regional office of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has been allowing kisses ‘all over’ but there was a slip between the cup and the lip. A meeting of all regional certification offices in the country is likely to be held in July with chairperson Sharmila Tagore where the ‘kissa kiss ka’ will be settled.“The kiss can be passionate but at the same time aesthetic,” CBFC sources told The Times of India.

Of late, Telugu film heroines have been daring to strip as seen in some films released in recent months. In fact, apart from the stripping, some heroines showed ‘Pista’, Shriya Saran shocked audiences by getting physical with hero Vishal. Heroines like Nayanatara and Priyamani too stripped as was never before seen on the Telugu screen.

Out of the 295 films which got a censor certificate last year, as many as 100 were dubbed films. Out of the remaining films, a substantial number got an ‘A’ certificate, which is given to films with skin show and also violence.

With heroines daring to bare more and more on screen, last year as many as 50 no hesitation in accepting the request of producers to kiss their heroes all over the face, chest and display passion.

In the movie ‘16 days’ Charmee showed no restraint in kissing her hero and in Telugu films were given an ‘A’ (adults only) certificate by the censors.”Vulgarity, of course, is not being allowed,” T Vijay Kumar, CBFC regional officer said.

So far this year as many as 130 Telugu films have got a censor certificate out of which only 90 are straight Telugu films. While quite a few of them are small budget films which have not been released at all, out of the ones that have been released 15 have got an ‘A’ certificate.

It may be mentioned here that Telugu film producers have always been at loggerheads with the censors for not allowing a ‘lip to lip’ kiss in Telugu films while Hindi film makers get away with it quite easily. The reason that was being dished out to producers who protested was that it would not go down with the sensibilities of movie goers here.

Apparently censors now think that instead of applying their scissors at will and pleasure, it is best to categorise a film properly so that the choice is left to the audiences whether to watch the film or not.

Dil Raju to produce film with Gopichand

Gopichand is going places. He has already established himself as one of the most bankable stars in Tollywood. With his films turning into good commercial businesses, big producers are beckoning him. Now, successful producer Dil Raju is making a big film with him as lead hero under the director of Gopi, a longtime associate of Gopichand. The film will go to the sets in September. Dil Raju is currently producing three, four films at a time and this is one among them.

Currently, Gopichand is shooting for Shankam with Trisha under the direction of Siva.

Irfan Pathan to marry Shivangi

It’s a decision that could break a million hearts. ‘Baroda bomber’ Irfan Pathan is set to marry long-time friend Shivangi Dev, daughter of an Indian diplomat in Australia. Pathan, who has known Shivangi for the past six years, told TOI that their parents had finally given their nod to the wedding.

“We know each other really well now,” said a blushing Irfan, who first met his lady-love in Canberra in 2003. The younger Pathan, however, is sure of the venue. “It will take some time but certainly in Vadodara. It will be a traditional wedding,” he said.

TOI had first reported about Irfan’s relationship with Shivangi, in March year. Irfan had first met her during a practice match. “She was very shy and didn’t talk much during our first meeting. It took quite some time before we got comfortable with each other and got into a relationship,” Irfan said.

So, who proposed first? “I was the one who proposed to her about three years ago. I was in Vadodara when I called her up and asked her if she would marry me,” he said. She said yes.
Initially, there was some resistance from both families. “Now, our families have accepted our relationship,” he added.

Shivangi, who has visited Irfan’s home twice, works as a chartered accountant in Australia and also teaches dance to children. “She is a very good dance teacher and has a major fan following in her dance school,” said Irfan who has visited her school.

After ‘Ride' it is Speed for Swetha Basu

Spooked in real life too priyanka

It’s not just the script and direction of the film that was sending chills down the spines of all the actors of Ram Gopal Varma’s film — they had to do with getting spooked in real life as well! The film — Agyaat — has been shot in the scary Sigiriya jungles of Sri Lanka and the unit was put up at a hotel near the jungle.

Priyanka Kothari had many close encounters with the animals and creepies. Her room was like a mini zoo, we hear! As she says, “At any time, you could expect a monkey staring at you from the balcony, ready to snatch your breakfast. When I woke up one morning, I saw six lizards crawling on the ceiling!” She panicked and ran to the reception to ask for a better room. Imagine her shock when the receptionist told her that she was given the best room in the hotel!

Jr Aishwarya's Secret Of Weight Loss

She is known as the Aishwarya Rai of the south and true to the title, she has got the most stunning looks. Though her expressions cannot be given a full mark, she is still the most sought after actress in the southern circuit. She is none other than Sneha Ullal and here she is with her thoughts.
Apparently, Sneha has cut down on her weight tremendously and speaking about it, she said that it is not an easy task to do that. She also advised that sweating it out at the gym but having fat rich diet will not help in any way. The pretty starlet said that she had to slog for eight months to get to the current shape.
Sneha suggests that one must maintain proper diet regulations, do the work out under experienced supervision and only then things will begin to take shape. Given her disciplined approach, it must be said that Sneha sure stands as an inspiration to many who want to reach a sexy figure.

Ram charan's Magadheera’ audio launched grandly

Finally, it has happened, the audio album release of the film ‘Magadheera’ happened amidst huge fan presence. The music for this has been composed by M M Keeravani and the event had all biggies with the likes of Srinu Vaitla, Nagababu, VV Vinayak, Chinni Krishna, Murugadoss, Srikanth, Ravi Teja, Ali, Sunil, Venu Madhav, Meher Ramesh, Dil Raju, Surender Reddy, Bhaskar, Allu Arjun, Allu Aravind, Srihari, Pawan Kalyan and others.

The event was anchored by Suma and almost all of them spoke briefly giving their best wishes to director S S Rajamouli and team. There were also entertainment programs with Siva Reddy stealing the limelight.

Finally, it was megastar Chiranjeevi who unveiled the album and as usual he took his own time in sharing his feelings without any hassles. He recalled how he was missing the film industry and how he is a proud father today looking at Charan’s improvement and growth as an actor.

Interestingly, many like Paruchuri, V V Vinayak, Rajamouli etc have strongly urged Chiru to get back to films once again and responding to that, Chiru was in his usual neutral mode which got the fans more curious.

The highlight of the film is said to be the horse chasing sequence and also the remix song ‘Bangaru Kodi Petta…’ which also has Chiru shaking his leg for a scene.

The film is due for release next month.

Tabu rejects offer from a US university

Tabu rejects offer from a US university to be a guest lecturer

She's a recluse when it comes to signing movies. However, Tabu also doesn't seem to care much when it comes to getting offers for being a guest lecturer.

Sources reveal that she recently rejected an offer from a university in New Jersey to be a guest lecturer on Indian films.

A source reveals, "Tabu was made the offer a few weeks back. She was invited as a part of the university's curriculum on filmmaking. Tabu contemplated for a few days and even spoke to a few friends. However, she decided not to be part of the plan."

The reason for Tabu rejecting the offer is supposed to be the fact that she isn't really good with speaking at public events.

"She developed cold feet thinking what kind of questions the students would ask her. Since she's a private person and mostly an introvert, Tabu politely declined the offer."

Other actors as guest lecturers: Abhishek Bachchan (Wharton); Amitabh Bachchan (Leeds).

I’m not competing with Asin

Actress Trisha, who has signed not, one but three more flicks with Akshay Kumar in Bollywood, says she isn’t approaching a career in Bollywood as a competitor to Asin. The ‘Ghilli girl’, who has peaked many heights in her career in Tamil, says she has her unique charm and thinks she is competitor to nobody in the Bollywood industry.

Trisha, who got launched through Priyadarshan in his ‘Leysa Leysa’, has acted with the biggest heroes in South India, including Vijay, Ajith, Mahesh Babu and Vekatesh. And now, she has set her eyes on Bollywood.

An actress with a figure to vie for, Trisha says she is confident of finding a place for herself in Hindi cinema, where size zero and glamour rule. And she does not consider herself a competitor to Asin, who is the next-big-thing in Bollywood, after charming the people with her role of Kalpana in ‘Ghajini’.

“I have agreed to roles that have a mix of both glamour and performance,” clarifies Trisha, who has just completed work for Silambarasan’s ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya’. Following this, she is working with Dhanush in Vetrimaran’s ‘Aadukalam’.

Sex Bomb Anchor Gets Film Calls

Usually, the individuals who hail from the TV circuit are known for their acting abilities but here is one girl who seems to be making headlines for her oomph. She is none other than Ishika and she was once a noted anchor in the small screen circuit but now a noted bombshell in movies.

Recently, Ishika appeared in the youth entertainer ‘Ride’ and now her looks are said to be luring many. Apparently, it was her pictures with deep cleavage that came few months ago which has been bringing her offers, say sources.

Many say that given the movie offers Ishika has been getting, it will not be long before she would bid adieu to the telly world. As it is, her presence has come down a great deal except for key special programs. Given her sex appeal and oomph, this was perhaps expected.

Surender Reddy's James Bond Movie With Mahesh

Prince Mahesh Babu is one hero who seems to have it all in him to be deemed as a Hollywood hero and given his looks and appeal; he has motivated many dynamic movie makers to come up with western thoughts while making Telugu films. One man who has already implemented it happens to be Surender Reddy.

He has shown a rather Hollywood type Mahesh in ‘Athidhi’ and though the film bombed, Mahesh’s looks wowed all. Apparently, Surender had mentioned quite a while back that he wanted to make a James Bond movie of sorts with prince but given his flop streak, he couldn’t say much.

But now, he came back with a bang in the form of ‘Kick’ and sources close to Surender reveal that he has now begun work on a story that could project Mahesh as James Bond. It must be recalled that Mahesh’s father superstar Krishna created his own brand with his set of secret agent movies in the yesteryears.

The couple had no other way than walking out from that place.

Keeping all this apart, it was Nayan who was hooked to internet in morning hours of 26th June where she came to know about the death of Michael Jackson. She was shocked and immediately shared that bad news to Pabhu Deva, who happens to be his hardcore fan and devotee. Prabhu Deva went into tears listening to the news.

Katie Green loves to strip in the comforts of her abode

Katie Green – the sexy Ultimo Babe has modeled in every part of the world but nothing beats the comfort of home.

According to The Sun, Green had a sexy lingerie photo shoot in her humble abode. The aesthetically done shoot gave a full view of Green’s voluptuous body and hardly left anything to imagination.

Incidentally, Green, who is known for outspoken ways against reed thin models and said, “I just love being back in the UK and enjoying my home comforts. I have lots of exciting projects to announce over the summer - so you`ll be seeing a LOT more of me then.

Sexiest Family Looks Lady In Bikini

With the bikini culture increasing with each passing day and even the heroines in Telugu bearing their voluptuous curves, many have begun to anticipate from those who have not done it yet. So this time, a new name is figuring in the bikini list and she is indeed a new entrant.

The news is that the audience is now trying to imagine Vimala Raman in a bikini. People are heard saying that she has got Katrina’s face cuts from side and Anushka’s smile as well as body. Vimala is a mix of family looks with an immense sex appeal and if she sports a bikini, it will be chaos.

For now, she is getting a good feedback for her looks from the audience and the film folks with her debut venture ‘Evaraina Eppudaina’. And going forward, if she takes up the bikini act seriously, it will take hardly few films for her to get into the top league of glamorous heroines.

New York a remarkable effort

his….ah, this! This is what cinema in contemporary times should be, must be.

Though it seldom is. Once again the banner gives us cinema of the most clutter-breaking quality.

It isn’t as if New York is the first remarkable film to synthesize terrorism and friendship. Mani Ratnam’s Dil Se comes to mind immediately where the enigma of the female terrorist played with supine splemdour by Manisha Koirala was often invested into scenes of disarming domesticity.

New York goes a step further to explore the evolution of terrorism in the context of home-grown emotions such as friendship and betrayal. Director Kabir Khan, discards the exasperating documentary-like directness of his first feature film Kabul Express to transport us into a cinema that needles us into swirling sensations suggesting a close link between cinema and life. The resultant brew is gritty edgy and thoughprovoking.

New York challenges the existent codes of cinematic conduct, and not by being fashionably unconventional.
On the surface it is an oldfashioned film about three students who grow up and grow wise through the politics of our times.

Here, we must mention the camaraderie that Kabir creates among his trio of players. What’s it about able casting that lifts a film notches above its destined caliber? We can’t imagine New York being the crucial work that it is without any other players.

John, Katrina and Neil exude the scent of bonhomie. It’s in their secret-society smiles more than the words. The characters speak the language of today without making a strained effort to sound cool.

“I’ve just come,” Neil introduces himself to the American-Indian dude-dada on the NY campus after a hug.
“With just one hug?’ comes the campus hero’s cocky answer.

Ha ha. There’s a casual and comforting feeling to the threesome’s bonding, almost like a maturer mellower less in-your-face version of the hips youngsters in Jaane Tu …Ya Jaane Na.

Sameer(John), Maya(Katrina) and Omar(Neil Nitin Mukesh) know life won’t be a campus filled with Christmasy delights for too lomg.

Disaster strikes soon enough. The progression of campus euphoria to the the way the grim political reality of American post 9/11 hits our protagonists ,is achieved with a refreshing lack of fuss and flamboyance.

Kabir Khan is a minimalist movie maker. The emotions that tie the three friends, or the way John, Katrina and their little son try to form a haven away from a world of strife stress and discrimination, shows the filmmaker’s fingers are on the pulse even as his characters’ hands move willy-nilly to the trigger.

It would be easy to designate New York as a well-shot engaging drama on how global terrorism affects the lives of three NRIs in the US. The politics underlining the drama of Kabir Khan’s cinema is so powerfully and persuasively positioned , right down to the pacifist ending when the terrorist ka beta is the school champ in the Land Of Dreams, that you come away from New York feeling chastened by your habitual cynicism about cinema on terrorism and violence.

Here’s a film that cares about the prejudices that have taken over the world. When a small –part actor called Nawazuddin on a camera-within-camera tells Katrina Kaif about the humiliation torture and indelible wounds that he suffered during detention for suspected terrorism, you are no longer watching a bright sassy film blending terrorism and entertainment. You are watching a slice of life. Make no mistake about that.
My two favourite sequences in the film both feature the unknown Nawazuddin. Watch his face when the American cop frisks Katrina’s character. It’s a moment that defines cultural prejudices and discrimination.

Katrina, indeed comes into her own as an actress of substance, giving her best shot to the last half-hour as a wife of a terrorist trying to keep her moral equilibrium in sync with her husband’s sinking values. From the carefree effervescent campus girl to the anguished wife, Katrina makes the journey look plausible all the way.
Neil as the sophomore with stars and stripes in his eyes is fully convincing credible and supportive of the two central performances.

New York is a coming-of-age film for John Abraham. As Sam(eer) the Indian-American dude whose American Dream turns into a nightmare of terrorism and persecution, John creates an intriguing graph for his character. He performs the sequences of incrcerated torture with a naked intensity that rips open wounds that never healed.

Whether he’s busy playing the campus rock-star or the guy fitting phone bombs into the FBI headquarters we don’t really know the angels and demons that occupy the Sam’s mind. John just flows with the character’s pain of karma with a performance that suggests seamless vigour rather than laboured angst.
Irrfan Khan as the FBI agent who has a point to prove about the Islamic mind-space is wry snappy cynical

His character’s back-projected life suggests an Italian wife who insists on feeding him pastas .
Stereotypical portrayals of the cultural diaspora are fortunately rare in this piece of contemporary art which has plenty of heart , a heart that never overflows in an embarrassing torrent of emotions. Indeed for better or worse, New York is Yashraj Films’ most international product to date. Aseem Mishra’s cinematography and Julius Packiam’s background score aid the narrative’s progession considerably, creating a powerhouse of picture-postcard images which secrete their terrifying subtext with a dormant fluency.

The dialogues on terrorism and the isolation and persecution of the average Muslim after 9/11 are brought into play much later. In fact the word ‘Muslim’ is not mentioned until the second-half when Irrfan gets into the diatribe mode.

What the film could and should’ve avoided is the rounding- off the horrific subtexts on terrorism with a rosy all’s-well-with-the-American-dream picture.

All in fact is not well with the way Indians and other Asians are treated abroad. New York depicts the end of a dream, American or otherwise, in a language that conveys the sublimated reality of a dream lived in sleep. It’s a fascinating view of friendship, loyalty and politics done in shades that reject garishness and embrace a serene, supple but strong style of narration.

New York is an important film. Not only for its political message. But also because it dares to treat basic emotions in a language that’s still largely alien to our cinema.

Uday Kiran pairs up with Swetha Basu

Uday Kiran has celebrated his birthday (Friday, June 26, 2009) with joy as he is doing another film in Telugu. The handsome actor has been going through rough patch and now he believes that it would be brighter this year. He has signed new film in Telugu with heroine Swetha Basu Prasad.

The film was announced today at Green Park hotel and at the same venue his birthday was celebrated. New producers D Kumar and M Eeshwar Vara Prasad are producing it on Chanikya Media banner while new director Subha Selvam is handling the megaphone.

The film will commence its regular shoot from July.

Swetha Basu Face Ok Base Weak

Swetha Basu is the new youth sensation who has been bagging offers one after other with the success of Kotha Bangaru Lokam. Thanks to her dialogue modulator and dubbing artiste those have brought fame for her with the delivery of dialogue 'e..p...u...d...u' and 'e...k...a...d..a' in KBL.. She has shot to fame with that. Later she acted in Ride and now booked in another new film with Uday Kiran. Three more projects are in line for her now.

Many say that her face is ok but the ‘base’ is a weak and is not attracting youngsters. ‘Base’ doesn’t mean only about ‘butt’ here but on a whole her body beneath her neck is not looking good.

She has to work on her body work out to bring that to shape. Look at these awkward tyres on her tummy area. That is too wide to look!!! Are you listening Swetha.

Magadheera Title Pushes 'Flop-Sentiment'

No film with black letters in title turned a hit in recent times. The title of Magadheera is in black and that is giving tremors for fans of Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan. Some fans of Chiru family have asked us to post this collective opinion and also suggested a change of that title in color.

It is indeed a suggestion for Magadheera team from fan community to think upon the title design and glue colors to it. Let us wish the fans are answered with right changes to fulfill the sentiments.

Shwetha Basu to pair up with Nikhil

Nikhil of “Happy Days” and “Yuvatha” fame is going to pair up with Shwetha Basu Prasad of “Kotta Bangaru Lokam” and “Ride” fame. This film will be directed by debutant Suresh.

D. Srinivas Rao and A. Chandrasekhar are combinely producing this film under Sai Krishna productions. This film is scheduled to star in July. Though her recent film “Ride” was a hit her role was not a substantial role. Nikhil gave a satisfactory performance in “Yuvatha” film.

Varun Sandesh Plays 'ABCD'

The lean and lanky hero Varun Sandesh is the latest youth icon and after ‘Happy Days’ he has shown a transformation and improvement in his acting and body language. It is known news that he has been roped in to play the lead role in the movie ‘Maro Charitra’ being made by Dil Raju.

Now, reports say that Varun is playing the role of an ABCD (American Born Confused Desi) in ‘Maro Charitra’ and given his anglicized Telugu accent, he seems to be the perfect match for the role. For now, Varun is having a dream run as he scored bumper hits with two of his movies.

Another thing that is keeping many in curiosity is the outcome of ‘Maro Charitra’. They want to know whether this will also be a tragic end or has Dil Raju tweaked the script a bit to suit the audience taste of today. This should be interesting.

Sleeping Beauty Showing Sexy Thighs

She may not have made her mark as a successful heroine but she is surely a sexy siren when it comes to her pictures and poses. She is none other than Masumeh Makhija and though this Punjabi bombshell is slowly getting into the bold act, she is surely causing some heat waves.

Here she is, in a sleepy pose and temptingly inviting eyes with juicy lips. Her smooth and silky thighs are teasing and it looks like a sculpture from the Khajuraho temples. Added to that, the milk white skin covered in a dark satin gown is another disturbance to the sleep of many men.

Masumeh is soon catching up with the other beauties and it may not be long before she falls into the eyes of the Telugu folk and they might end up making her a top heroine of the south given her oozing sex appeal and her charmingly lust filled eyes.

Is Kangana Bigger Than Anushka?

It is known news that the Bollywood sizzler Kangana Ranaut is currently making her debut in Tollywood with her film ‘Ek Niranjan’. However, more than her debut, she is making news for another reason and that is her remuneration.

Sources reveal that Kangana is getting a whopping Rs 1 crore as her fee for her role. This has brought many film pundits to compare her with our very own Anushka. Apparently, Anushka’s remuneration is said to be Rs 65 lakhs so they really wonder if paying Kangana Rs 1 cr is worth or not.

On a comparative scale, many say that Anushka is far better given her voluptuous appeal and her following among the masses. On the other hand, Kangana is barely a new face for the Telugu audience though she is a known name in Bollywood. Wonder what the makers of ‘Ek Niranjan’ have to say to this.

Nayantara's Ex-Lover Chasing Another Top Heroine

When it comes to the controversies surrounding the hot Malayalam beauty Nayantara, top in the list happens to be her messy love affair that happened few years ago with the Kollywood hero Simbu. It is said that even today both of them have got some swollen feelings for each other.

However, it now looks like Simbu has set his eyes on yet another hot heroine and she is none other than our very own Ileana. It is heard that Simbu has been relentlessly trying for Ileana, but this time it is for a film. However, Ileana has been turning down most of the offers that came her way from Kollywood.

It is said that the ‘andaala khazana Ileana’ was hurt deeply during her debut attempt in Kollywood and since then she has taken a very tough stand towards Kollywood industry. It now remains to be seen whether Simbu will get successful in luring her to their land or not.

Married Lady in Bikini

Though she has not made her mark as a heroine, she has definitely made her mark as a mesmerizing seductress and a hot bombshell in Bollywood.

She is Amrita Arora and here she is flaunting her curves in her fair skin and to make things difficult for the male folk, she is dressed in a passionately purple bra and bikini. Apparently, Amrita is married now and still she ensures that her figure is in shape without any extra flesh.

Here she is, in one of her recent poses for her forthcoming venture 'Kambakkht Ishq' to provide a passionate feast to our patrons.

Best curvy figure

Any best body list has to have the ultimate pin-up girl of Bollywood, Yana Gupta. This item girl has created fans for her curvy figure pretty much all her life in bikinis.

Prabhas Likes Anushka Than Trisha

Young rebel star Prabhas is one guy who has been known for his down to earth nature and his honest statements. However, this time, his plain words may just be the cause of discomfort for his good friend, the pretty girl and the hot starlet Trisha.

Recently, Prabhas was the celebrity guest for the Lakshmi Prasanna talk show that is currently on in the ZEE Telugu channel. In this show, there was a rapid fire round and when Lakshmi asked Prabhas to choose between Trisha and Anushka, he is said to have chosen Anushka.

Incidentally, Trisha happens to be a close friend of Prabhas but after what he said in the TV interview, many feel that Trisha might feel upset. Sources reveal that Prabhas got close to Anushka during the shooting time of ‘Billa’ and it remains to be seen how Trisha is going to react on this one.

Love can happen at anytime and any place. How convincingly was this told in this movie, let us see.

Story
Venkat (Varun) is a happy go lucky guy who is not responsible about anything but then his life takes a turn when he sees Madhumita (Vimala) and falls in love with her at first sight. From then on, he starts hatching plans to win her heart and finally he does.

However, in this process, he does a small mistake which leads to a great confusion and problem and Madhu leaves him without giving any chance to explain.

Whether he manages to win her heart and what changes he undergoes in this process forms the rest of the story.

Performances
Hero: Varun Sandesh:
The confidence of bagging two hits with the starting of career is seen in him. He carried the entire movie on his shoulders and shown enough of energy levels. He needs to work on his body quotient. He may look better with some grooming and adding on some muscle. He has improved his dialogue delivery which was thick in his earlier movies.

Heroine: Vimala Raman:
She is like a sheer poetry. Her beauty is marvelous and enthralling. She looked seductive and sensuous and she has performed to her role. She suits best beside big heroes than lean guys like Varun Sandesh. An inch loss in her body would certainly pinch the hearts of youngsters and teenagers as well. Her smile is also captivating and personality is enchanting.

Others:
Giri Babu was regular, Rama Prabha and Sakuntala were okay, Reshmi looked good, Rahul was alright, Ali was normal, Venu managed few light moments, Anu Haasan did her bit with standard, the others like Surekha Vani, Rahul were brief.

Technical Crew:
The dialogues were okay, the script was a bit random but the screenplay was suitable to it. Music was a let down and barring one or two songs, nothing much can be said. Cinematography was average, editing was neat, costumes and art department did their bit to prove their presence.

Highlight Scenes:

  • The scene at the TV showroom where Varun’s brother gives him money
  • Varun’s bold approach to shoulder the entire film
  • Varun’s way of making children sleep

Disappointment
The rain song was cut down which proved to be a disappointment for many young audiences

Analysis
The film tried to attempt to be a light hearted romantic entertainer but then the comedy track has been quite weak. Even the plot as such is outdated and it was not long before the viewers could predict what was coming next. The entire first half has been devoted to a stale comedy of the grannies at the hospital and it must be said that the flavor was lost due to it. This is a romantic treat but the touch of romance and its feel was not in sufficient doses.

The second half also was a bit mixed with up with inconsequent scenes and forced songs. However, the technical values and the production values of the film are good and this has elevated the film a bit. Due credit goes to the makers for entrusting the hero with the large responsibility of going through the entire movie. There is no special part for the mass audience and the family audience might like it in parts. The pace of the film has been consistent but unwanted songs during the second half hampered the momentum.

Overall, this is a film that is technically neat and good in few points but the agility in keeping the audiences attached to screen is missing especially in second half that marred the final result.

SJ Suriyah Tamannah and Namitha Compete

Tamil hero and director S J Suriyah is indeed a lucky man, he has two happening beauties of South Indian Cinema trying to woo him in his next film Vyapari. One of them is the buxom beauty Namitha who is a go getter type and the other is the subtle and sexy Tamannah.

The heroines are falling all over Suriyah and some of the promo released recently had shown the type of wooing that is happening. Both the ladies are skimpily dressed in the movie and it seems to be a visual treat for the eyes.

Insider news is that this film is being made with a view to dub in Telugu as the heroines and the hero have a fairly good fan following in Andhra too.

Love Aaj Kal has peppy soulful numbers

After the hit score of `Jab We Met`, director Imtiaz Ali has collaborated with Pritam yet again for the music of Saif Ali Khan`s production debut `Love Aaj Kal`.

Pritam has left no stone unturned in creating soulful melodies.

The film that stars Saif and Deepika Padukone has seven originals and three remixes in the soundtrack.

"Aahun aahun", which has an electrifying start with the strumming of the guitar, is an amalgamation of a hit Punjabi pop song by singer Jazzy B and the Hindi song composed by Pritam. Sung by Neeraj Shridhar, the song keeps juggling between the two genres and is very entertaining. It sets the mood by mixing both Indian and western influences. "Aahun aahun" will surely be a hit.

The number also has a remixed version, which will become a favourite on the DJ consoles.

Up next is a beautiful rendition in Rahat Fateh Ali Khan`s voice. "Aaj din chadeyya" starts with a small alaap. A romantic song that is extremely soothing to the ears, "Aaj din…" strikes a chord with the listeners. The song has a feel-good factor.

With brilliant vocals by Sunidhi Chauhan and Neeraj Sridhar, the next song "Chor bazari" starts with foot-tapping, peppy music. The lyrics are not the highlight of the song, but the number has the potential to impress music buffs.

This too has a remixed version, which is quite average.

KK makes his presence felt with fast-paced song "Main kya hoon", which is enhanced by electronic and psychedelic beats.

With the next song "Thoda thoda pyar", the Punjabi flavour takes precedence. Sung by Sunidhi Chauhan, it has a folk touch to it in places. But it might not go on to become a chartbuster.

Neeraj Sridhar returns with "Twist", which is intermingled with the song "Ek pardesi mera dil le gaya" from the 1958 film " Phagun". It`s a dance number that is high on beats.

The remixed version, however, is better than the original.

Finally we have Mohit Chauhan crooning the song "Ye dooriyan". The song is just about passess muster, but Mohit`s vocals are the highlight.

On the whole, Pritam has done a good job with the soundtrack and created songs that are sure to become hits.

Michael Jackson dies of heart attack

A pop star has fallen. The hearts of billions of his fans across the world stopped beating for a while. The strings of music sounded silence.

Michael Jackson, the pop star who rocked entire world is no more. He breathed his last suffering a chronic lung disease. He left the world in shock leaving the planet while he is running 50 on Thursday (25th June 2009) afternoon at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. He suffered a cardiac arrest just a few minutes before that time.

He had a long odyssey in the field of pop music. Starting his career as singer in tender teenage, he took the rostrum of singing against racial discrimination. He stood by the side of black community and expressed their woes in the most effective way. His voice was a digging arrow in the hearts of racial discrimination under the sky. He got cosmetic surgeries several times to change the complexion of his skin and thus answered entire white community those pumped in racial discrimination just boasting their fair skin. And his pop numbers shook entire world.

The numbers like "Black or white" and "All I wanna say is that they don't really care about us" shook the bases of the societies those have encouraged racial discrimination. The song 'beat it' raised the heart beat of youngsters across the world and the lyrics of that song used to be quoted even during evoking speeches in universities.

And coming to the fiction side, his creative numbers 'It's close to midnight' from 'Thriller' has taught ways to incorporate horror elements in entertainment. The song turned so popular that Telugu film 'Donga' has shot a similar number on Chiranjeevi. And the song 'Remember the time' inspired the canning of 'Mayamascheendra..' in 'Bharateeyudu' starring Kamal Hasan. Michael Jackson's influence was felt knowingly or unknowingly in Indian music to large extent. Even the song 'Muddabanthi Moggalaaga..' from 90s release 'Samudram' of Krishna Vamsi has taken a cue from a Michael Jackson's number.

And last but not least, the Indian dancing legend Prabhu Deva once humbly asked not to compare him with Michael Jackson as the latter is miles ahead of his talent. With this we can say Jackson is an icon even for many dancers those have big fan following.

Greatandhra.com expresses deep condolences for entire fan community of Michael Jackson across the world.
